“Aao Dharti Ko Rang Den Rut Hai Milan Ki Oh Saathiya” Asha Bhosle sings for Pakistani film “Main Laut Kay Aoonga” Lahore, Apr 27 (ANI): Lollywood movie “Main Laut Kay Aoonga”, songs of which have been sung by India and Pakistani artists - Asha Bhosley and Jawad Ahmed- was screened for the Pakistanis press at the Lahore Press Club last evening. This is the first time Asha and Ahmed have performed together. The film is being considered as a move to increase viewership of Lollywood movies. Indian actress Puja Kanwal plays the lead female role in the movie. Puja said that the entire package, including the crew, was amazing, and that on reading the script she could not refuse the role. She added that this was her first visit to Pakistan, and that the similarity between the people of the two nations made her trip worth it. She also said that she would do more of such movies if the scripts were good. The Rs 50 million budget movie features Asha Bhosley and Jawad Ahmed together for the first time in playback. Shoaib Alam, the director of the movie with a budget nearing Rs 50 million, said that the co-production would help increase viewer-ship of Lollywood movies. He also said the post-production of the film was shot in Bombay to make it look more modern. He cited the “lack of adequate equipment” necessary for filmmaking as the reason why Lollywood was suffering in the international arena. Ahmed said the director had tried to enhance the audio-visual quality of the film and this attempt would aid the progress of Pakistani cinema and attract a larger audience. He added that the incompetence of Lollywood was a contributor to the bleak conditions of cinema halls in Pakistan. “Cinemas in India were very well maintained, and therefore the Pakistani film industry should be invested in so that quality can stop being compromised on,” the Daily Times quoted him as saying. On the occasion, Humayun Saeed, the lead actor of the movie, said that this was his first venture with Indian actors and that the entire team had worked very hard on this movie. (ANI)
